How to remove blood from carpets
Accidents can occur at any time. We have encountered various issues related to trips, falls, and dog bites that have posed challenges. The key lies in how we respond to these incidents.
Speed is essential, whether it’s contacting me directly or addressing the matter at hand. In some cases, panic can set in, potentially leading to permanent damage. While you may find suggestions online or use stain removers, keep in mind that these methods often do not fully address the underlying biological issues.
When dealing with blood or similar substances, we take necessary precautions and wear protective clothing. Our initial step is to flush the affected area with cold water, applying pressure of around 200 psi for carpets and 100 psi for upholstery. We continue this flushing process until we believe no more loose residue remains. After that, we use a camera to check for any visible remnants. If anything is still present, we proceed with our specialised cleaning solutions for such incidents.
In some cases, the underlay may be impacted due to the volume of the substance, which would necessitate its replacement. Because the complexity of each situation varies, we don’t commit to specific timeframes or costs; we only provide approximations. This approach is due to several factors:
1. The volume of material we’re dealing with.
2. The type of carpet fibres involved.
3. Any attempts made by the customer before our arrival?
Once we are satisfied with the delicate removal process, we will steam clean the area to eliminate any hidden bacteria.
